Winning campsite gets $100 Colton RV gift certificate
Lancaster National Speedway & Dragway has put together a contest for fans camping out at the racing facility during the 27th annual U.S. Open, which takes place September 25-27.
Track officials have come up with a "Best Appearing Campsite" contest to award one lucky group of race fans with a $100 gift certificate from Colton RV. The judging for the contest will take place on Saturday evening of U.S. Open weekend (September 26) with winners being announced on Sunday afternoon (September 27).
Judges will be looking for the most creative and unique campsites. Fans are encouraged to create displays in support of their favorite drivers or divisions of racing. Entries must be tasteful and in accordance with Lancaster's family-friendly environment.
Camping out during the U.S. Open at Lancaster National Speedway is almost as much a tradition as the racing itself. Over half of the parking lot usually fills with RVs, trailers and even people camping tents. Campers arrive as early as Wednesday to claim a spot for the biggest weekend of stock car racing in Western New York.
Camping will once again be free for all race fans during U.S. Open weekend. A designated camping area will be established on the southern side of the parking lot, which is the side adjacent to the pit entrance road.

A two-day adult general admission ticket is just $40, which is a savings of $5.00. A student (age 12-17) weekend ticket is $15, with kids under 12 free. Family passes are available for families with two adults and two students. Free camping is available in the speedway parking lot.
