Track record payout awaits winner of next two events

October is the month of money at Mahoning Valley Speedway as the popular paved ¼-mile oval in Lehighton is set to close out 2015 in a big way with three weeks of high paying race events, and, while the Late Models, Street Stocks and Dirt Mods will all get to enjoy some extra cash at the payout window, a record payoff is going to the Modified drivers.

There is an unheard of $10,000+ up for grabs to the person who can win the next two features and as a bonus also capture the Central States Modified Gamblers Series (CSMGS).

It gets underway this coming Saturday, October 3 with the Second Annual Bob “Heavy” Scherer Memorial 100 that will pay $3500 to win and concludes with Octoberfast 2015 on October 17.

This year’s edition of Octoberfast will offer the most money every awarded to a Mahoning feature winner as promoter Floyd Santee is presenting a cool $6000 to the conqueror of 150-lap main. The 150 lap distance is also the most ever run for the Modifieds.

If that’s not enough there is the additional $2000 that goes to the winner of the CSMGS for having the best poker hand over the special six race series and Octoberfast is the decider.

Plus the class championship will be determined as well which means even more money if any of the title hopefuls can win those big ones as well as the crown.

Saturday’s racing will be the finale for points with five of the six classes naming champions. Along with the Modified outcome for the championship the Late Models, Street Stocks, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks will also reward respective champs. Last weekend Ricky Yetter won the Dirt Mod championship.

Racing gets underway at 6:00 pm. Adult grandstand admission is $20. $2.00 off for students, seniors 65 + and active military. Must have ID. Children 10 and under are free. Pit gates open at noon. In the event of inclement weather then Sunday, October 4 at 3:00 pm will be the rain date.

Saturday, October 10 is a paid practice day for Octoberfast from noon – 4:00. $10 pp and $25 per car. Grandstand admission is free.
