NASCAR HALL OF FAMER, CREW CHIEF, CAR OWNER AND DECORATED WAR HERO BUD MOORE TO BE PART OF MOTORSPORTS 2016 RACE CAR AND TRADE SHOW

Described as “an old country mechanic” who loved to make ‘em run fast, Bud Moore had a successful career as a winning NASCAR car owner and crew chief earning a spot in the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The 90-year-old decorated veteran of World War II will be part of the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports Fueled by Sunoco Distributed By Insinger Performance Race Car & Trade Show. The 31st edition of the show is set for Friday, January 22nd thru Sunday, January 24th at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA.

Moore will be doing a question and answer session at the main stage on Saturday afternoon. The NASCAR Hall of Famer will also spend time in the Coastal 181 Publishing display along with author Perry Allen Wood signing copies of the new Bud Moore biography, BUD MOORE: Memoir of a Country Mechanic from D-Day to NASCAR Glory, and will also be signing autographs. This could very well be a once in a lifetime opportunity for fans attending the show.

His cars raced in the 1960s and 1970s usually sporting red and white colors of Motorcraft and carrying the number 15 had such notables as Buck Baker, Joe Weatherly, Billy Wade and Tiny Lund driving and winning. Baker, Weatherly and Lund all won NASCAR titles for Moore.

Other notables that drove for Moore included Dale Earnhardt, David Pearson, Cale Yarborough, Fireball Roberts, Darrell Waltrip and a long list of others.

During his 37 years as a NASCAR car owner the Spartansburg, SC native was able to amass 63 wins, 43 pole positions and three NASCAR Grand National (now Sprint Cup) titles.

Impressive was his war record as he was able to participate in five major battles including Normandy D-Day Landings. He earned two bronze stars (one for capturing a German headquarters on his own) and five Purple Hearts for battle-related injuries.

Moore will be joining rising young NASCAR Sprint Cup star Kyle Larson, USAC ace Dave Darland, NASCAR and IndyCar standout John Andretti along with a host of other well-known racers and personalities at the show.

More than 200 racing vehicles representing just about every segment of the sport will be taking part in the show that offers something for just about everyone and fills the 250,000 square feet of show space. Race teams looking to gain great exposure for their team and sponsors are invited to contact Tim Hogue at 609.888.3618 to have their race car included.

Show attendees will be part of the Syracuse Moody Mile Reunion with cars on display that were driven by Buzzie Reutimann, Gary Balough, recent winner Stewart Friesen and others. On Saturday there will be a Grand Reunion featuring driver autographs.

Always a very popular event is the Ms. Motorsports Pageant on Saturday. Again this year Oliver Construction Enterprises will sponsor the event. Ladies wishing to participate in the Pageant are invited to call the show office at 609.888.3618 for all details.

Included in the show will be more than 600 exhibitor booths offering products and services for the racers along with items of interest for fans including a huge array of collectibles. Many speedways and sanctioning organizations will be offering information on their events planned for the 2016 season with several using the show to release their schedules.

Exhibit space, very limited, remains available and information, including a color show brochure, can be had at motorsports@aarn.com or telephone 609.888.3618.

The very classy Crowne Plaza Valley Forge will serve as the host hotel and will again offer a discounted rate. The hotel is located just 7.5 miles from the Expo Center and is within walking distance of the popular King of Prussia Mall, the nation’s second largest retail complex with over 350 stores and close to 100 restaurants.

Again this year the Saturday night post show gathering will continue and will be held in one of the large ballrooms at the hotel with music by DJ Sound and Lighting and bar specials from show sponsor Miller Lite.
