In just a few days from now the Tour Type Modifieds will be hitting the pavement at Evergreen Raceway. With engines that put out over 600 horsepower, mixed with wide racing slicks, the drivers of these machines are destined to put on a teriffic 50-lap show for any racing fan.

Plenty of Tour Type Modified drivers up and down the east coast have shown interest in the event, which will pay $2,000 and $175 to start, if 16 or more cars take the green flag.

There’s only a two tire rule in effect for the show, meaning that all competing drivers only have to buy two tires, if they so desire. However, they must use the same set of tires for both the heat and feature event. Drivers are required to purchase a minimum of two right side Hoosier track tires, which are the Hoosier 1330. Drivers are allowed to compete with the Hoosier 1320 or M20s on the left side of their cars. Tires are available at the track and can be purchased by cash, check or credit card (3% fee processing fee applies).

Furthermore, the Street Stocks are invited to compete with the Pro Stock divisions, as long as they compete on the Pro Stock track tire. Driver that plan to compete in both divisions are required to purchase two pit wrist bands.

Grandstand admission for the first Tour Type Modified event on April 24 is just $15 for adults, and as always, children 12 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult.

Along with the Tour Type Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Street Stocks, Factory Stocks and Four Cylinders this Sunday, the track will be hosting Big Wheel Races for the kids!

Team Cassagrande/Mattern have sponsored trophies for 1st-3rd place in each of the three age groups and Tom Wanick of Wanick Construction Company is going to give each winner in the three age groups a $25.00 gift certificate for Toys R Us.

Along with the trophies, Cassagrande/Mattern will provide each of the three age groups with candy for each and every little racer.

Don’t forget to bring out those big wheels for the kids, AND if anyone happens to have one or two lying around that they would like to donate to the track, please bring them to the races with you.

The pit gate will swing open at 10:30 AM for both events and the pit entrance fee is $30 with a pit license or $40 without. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and heat races will begin at 2 PM. The grandstand gates will open at 12:30 PM.

Evergreen Raceway is located minutes from Hazleton, PA, in between routes 93 and 309.
