This coming Saturday evening, May 7, Mahoning Valley Speedway race fans are in for a great action filled night of short track racing as the popular Modified Triple 25s will highlight the night which also includes Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.
The Modified Triple 25s are three 25-lap features that are run flat out. Drivers must jockey to the front in fast fashion during each of the three stints. It’s go-time from the drop of the green.
And with $1000 to win each feature, it makes the racing for the win even more thrilling as drivers have a chance to bankroll a nice amount of money for the relatively short period of work.
In previous Modified Triple 25s it was not surprising to see one driver claim as many as two wins but never has anyone hit the triple. For all intent and purposes that would be a tall task too when you look at the parity of talent that makes up each of the three grids.
Point leader Eric Beers will be looking to tie a track record in the first 25 lapper. If he can pull off the win it will be his fourth straight which will tie the mark for consecutive Modified victories which is currently held by the late Bill Teel.
The starting line-up for the first 25 will be determined by the current weekly handicapping. For the second feature line-up the winner from race one will draw a pill to determine the redraw which will be anywhere from 7 to 15. The same will take place for race three.
Kids’ Big wheel races will be held at intermission. Also the first 200 moms to enter the grandstands will be given a carnation in honor of Mother’s Day.
Adult general admission is $22, there is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Kids 10 and under are free. Grandstand gates open at 4:00 pm.
Pit gates will open at 11:30 with early paid practice taking place from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Regular warmups are from 4:30 – 5:30. Racing starts at 6:00 pm. Pit admission is $30 for members and $40 for non-members.
