Mahoning Valley Speedway had its second setback of the season as rain washed out the Saturday, May 14 race card.

Moving ahead to this coming Saturday, May 21 at 6:00 pm, Mahoning Valley will present a six division show that will include heats and features for Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.

Also, the debut of the Jr. Enduro Series sponsored by Ahner Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning of Palmerton, will take to the track.

Track management sees this series as looking towards the future by giving young talent the opportunity to compete in a stock car.

While a driver of the Jr. Enduro can race on their own, they do have the option to have a passenger seat and an experienced tutor ride along for guidance.

The cars will run under the same rules as the current Small Car Enduro. Hobby Stock cars are allowable to compete.

Racers must be between the ages of 12-18. A driver who has more than a year of racing experience in a stock car is not eligible to compete with the Jr. Enduros. The feature will be run for a time of 30-minutes.

Series sponsor Ahner Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning will kick in an additional $100 to the highest non-weekly Mahoning Valley racer. Ahner is also adding money to the purse which will be an 80/20 payout.

The price to enter is $40 per car (transponder included) and $25 per driver.

Jr. Enduro racers can, if they wish, take part in early paid practice which will be held from 12:30 – 3:00.

Also, the track will host a Car Cruise. Anyone with a classic/rod/custom car or truck will be admitted free to the races for the evening and during intermission will take a cruise around the track. All cars affiliated with the Car Cruise will be on display prior to the night’s action getting underway.

Adult general admission is $12. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Grandstands open at 4:00 pm and racing begins at 6:00. Warm-ups will get underway at 4:00. Pit gates will open at 11:30 am.
