For a second straight Saturday strong forecasts for afternoon and evening rain have forced Wall Stadium Speedway officials to cancel the auto racing events scheduled for Saturday night (May 21). Saturday night auto racing will resume in one week on May 28.
When racing action returns on May 28 the Downs Ford Modified stock cars will headline the Memorial Day Weekend competition in twin 35-lap main events. The Snap On Sportsman cars will race in a 30-lapper and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks will all compete in a 25-lap main event. The first Demolition Derby of the year is also planned.
Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow. For this Memorial Day Weekend event only, if the current rainy Saturday weather pattern persists a rain date for the Saturday, May 28, events has been set for Sunday afternoon, May 29.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
