All regular track classes in action…Pocono Raceway ticket giveaways
There’s no doubt fans and racers alike from Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway are ready to get back into the swing of things, especially after back-to-back weather related cancellations.
They will all get that opportunity this coming Saturday night, May 28 when the track presents a six division program of Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks. Start time is 6:00 pm.
Highlighting the evening will be the second leg of the American Rental Street Stock Gamblers Series. The $1000-to-win, 75-lap feature is part of the six-race series for the Street Stocks that pays bonus money throughout the selected races. Played out in a poker game format, monetary prizes of $800, $500, $400, $300 and $200 correspondingly will be paid to the top six in the series drivers.
Heading into Saturday’s race defending division champion Zach Graver holds an Ace after scoring a victory in race number one on April 16. Josh Mooney, Jon Moser, Jason Kuhn and Stacey Brown are next in line with a King, Queen, Jack and 10 respectively.
American Rental Equipment, located at 511 Mahoning Dr E, Lehighton, offers rental items that range from Bobcat excavators and backhoes to tile saws, pressure washers, stump grinders, chippers and lawn equipment. They also rent party equipment, including hot dog rollers, bounce houses, folding tables and chairs, and cotton candy and popcorn machines.
Also representatives from Pocono Raceway will be on hand to giveaway tickets to the upcoming NASCAR, Indy Car and ARCA events at the Tricky Triangle. Kids Big Wheel races will take place at intermission.
Adult general admission is $18. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Grandstands open at 4:00 pm and racing begins at 6:00. Warm-ups will get underway at 4:00. Pit gates will open at 11:30 am for early paid practice.
Last weekend the first running of the Jr. Enduro Series sponsored by Ahner’s Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning of Palmerton, was scheduled to take place. That event has now been deferred to Saturday, June 18. There will be additional Jr. Enduro dates forthcoming as well.
Coming up on Saturday, June 4 it will be the popular Baltimore Life Insurance Fan Appreciation Night. General admission if just $8 (no discounts). There will be loads of giveaways for the kids and during intermission all race cars will be brought out onto the track for a special meet and greet with the drivers.
