The Downs Ford Modified stock cars in a 40-lap feature and the Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models in a 50-lap main event take center stage at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (June 4) as the shore speedway presents “Super Hero Night” racing action. In addition to enjoying stock car racing action fans young and old will be able to meet and pose for photos with Batman and Spiderman early in the evening. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.
On the speedway the Modified cars will compete in a 40-lap main event. Early season winners Shawna Ingraham of Brick, New Egypt’s Jason Hearne, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Ron Frees of Brick and Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the field into main event action. Defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson, former champ Chas Okerson of Freehold and Eric Mauriello of Howell are also expected to be in the field.
Also in the spotlight will be the Limited late Models with former champs Brian Doyle of Ronkonkoma, NY, Howie Conk of Freehold and Bill Vanderveen of Beachwood leading the way in a 50-lap feature race.
The Snap On Sportsman cars are slated for a 30-lapper and the Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars are each ready for a 25-lap main event. The open cockpit Three-Quarter Midgets will also see action on the fifth mile “inner oval.”
Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. Main events for all divisions to follow. Super Heroes are expected to arrive at the speedway at 6:00 p.m.
Action will then continue on Sunday (June 5) as Wall Stadium presents the “Sunday Small-Car Series” starting at noon.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
