This coming Saturday evening, June 7 at 6:00 pm, Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway has a six division show of stock car racing on tap plus a Small Car Enduro.

All regular track classes will be in action headlined by the Modifieds running in a 35-lap main. Last week during Baltimore Life Insurance Fan Appreciation Night, an intense battle to the wire took place with Don Wagner edging current point leader Eric Beers for the win.

With his second consecutive win and sixth straight top-two finish, Mike Sweeney and his Ford Fusion continues to lead the Late Model division in points over defending champ Paul Koehler Jr.

Jon Moser is the new leader at the top of the standings in the Street Stocks. Aleia Geisler is still looking for her first Dirt Mod win but in the meantime she is relishing her time at the front of the points. Bobby Kibler Jr., has been number one in point with the Pro 4’s since the season began and this past weekend Cody Geist took control of the Hobby Stock standings by a slim margin over his brother Shayne Geist.

All of the aforementioned classes will compete in regular distance heat and feature events throughout the night.

Afterwards a Small Car Enduro will be run to close out the night’s action. Enduro rules can be found on the track’s website at www.mahoningvalley-speedway.com.

During intermission Kids Big Wheel Races will be held.

Speaking of Enduros, Mahoning Valley is gearing up for the inaugural Jr. Enduro sponsored by Ahner’s Plumping, Heating and Air Conditioning on Saturday, June 18.

That same night the Dirt Mods will be top billing with a special 50-lap feature paying $1200 to win.

Saturday’s adult grandstand admission is $14. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Grandstands open at 4:00 pm and racing begins at 6:00. Warm-ups will get underway at 4:00. Pit gates will open at 11:30 am for early paid practice which gets underway at 12:30.
