The Downs Ford Modified stock cars in a 40-lap feature take center stage at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (June 11) as the shore speedway presents six divisions of stock car racing and honors fathers. With the stock cars having the night off on Father’s Day Weekend the speedway will honor dad’s this Saturday night with gifts while supplies last, a free raffle to wave the green flag on the main events and the opportunity to take a five lap ride around the oval in a “ride-along” race car before events begin. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., special “ride-along” opportunities will also take place at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions starting at approximately 7:00 p.m.

On the speedway the Modified stock cars will compete in a 40-lap main event. Early season winners Shawna Ingraham of Brick, New Egypt’s Jason Hearne, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Ron Frees of Brick, Jimmy Blewett of Howell and defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson will lead the field into main event action. Former champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, brothers Trevor and Zack Alspach, both of Willingboro, and Eric Mauriello of Howell are also expected to be in the field seeking their first win of the year.

Also in the spotlight will be the Snap On Sportsman cars in a 30-lapper and the Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models, the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks are each ready for a 25-lap main event. The Dirt Cars will also see action on the famed third mile high-banked paved oval for the first time this season.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. Main events for all divisions to follow.

Working closely with the Green Flag Driving Experience, which puts fans behind the wheel of real racecars on most weekends, fathers will be offered the opportunity to ride along with a professional driver in a real racecar for five laps for just $25 between 5:00 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. A limited number of rides are being offered for just $25 each. Fathers who wish to take the ride of their lives, or friends and or family, who would like to give this extraordinary gift, must call the speedway office during business hours to make reservations at 732-681-6400.

Formula Drift will take over the speedway on the weekend of June 18 before stock car action returns with the “Garden State Classic” for the Modified cars on June 25.

Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturdays and Sundays through September with special post-season races in October and November. The speedway is located on Route 34 in Wall Township, N.J., just one mile north of Garden State Parkway exit 98 and Interstate 195 exit 35B.
