Regular show plus Jr. Enduro up next
Due to an unfavorable weather forecast throughout the day and into the evening, Mahoning Valley Speedway has cancelled the race meet for today, July 9.
Attention now shifts to the upcoming Saturday, July 16 night of stock car racing at the Lehighton paved ¼-mile oval.
On the docket will be a regular show consisting of all six track classes which include Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks plus the second round of the Jr. Enduros will be held at the end of all regular races.
At intermission Kids Box Car races will be taking place. There will be no Kids Big Wheels until the following week.
Race time is 6:00 pm. Grandstands open at 4:00 pm. Warm-ups will get underway at 4:00. Pit gates will open at 11:30 am for early paid practice which gets underway at 12:30. Adult front gate admission is $12. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military.
In two weeks’ time the Modifieds will be running twin 50 lap features as part of the Bob “Heavy” Scherer Memorial. Each of the 50 lappers will pay $1800 to win and there will be regular championship points awarded after each event. If anyone would like to become a lap sponsor please see JoAnn Scherer at the track this coming Saturday.
