Releases More Schedule Changes
The Tour Type Modifieds are on tap this Sunday at Evergreen raceway and both drivers and fans alike are looking forward to round no. 4 of the series.
Tour Modified drivers will run heat races to qualify for the 50-lap feature. For the redraw, each of the top three heat finishers will pick a Frisbee that will be marked with a number. The number will be the position in which that driver will start the feature. The Frisbees will then be thrown into the grandstands.
Twenty four cars will start the main event through the heat races and a consi (if needed). The purse, which pays $2,000 to the winner, is posted on the speedway website. A link can be found just below the “Payout” button on the homepage.
Speedway officials have made a few schedule changes in recent weeks, including changing the first Sunday of every month into an Enduro race day only. As forewarned then, more schedule changes would been made, which include the cancellation of the Evergreen Modified division on Sunday, July 24 and Sunday, July 31.
Evergreen Raceway is also looking forward to their ‘Christmas in July’ event on Sunday, July 24. Not only will Santa be present, but he will have items for the children at the speedway, courtesy of track fans, driver, teams and officials. Those interested are asked to bring a wrapped gift to the speedway office, costing under $5 and marked for a boy or girl. Drop boxes will also be at the track on both the grandstand and pit side for drop off. Back to school items, such as pencils, erasers, crayons, notebooks, etc. are also welcome.
The July 24 event is deemed to be a great event for the kids and aside from Santa Claus being in the house, there will be a bounce house for the children, and also family photo opportunities.
The next Evergreen Raceway event is slated for Sunday, July 17 and will feature the Tour Type Modifieds, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders, INEX Legends and Bandoleros. Grandstand admission is just $15. Children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult.
The pit gate will swing open at 10:30 AM and the pit entrance fee is $30 with a pit license or $40 without. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and heat races will begin at 2 PM. The grandstand gates will open at noon.
