The weather may be telling us we are in the middle of a Jersey Shore summer but the Wall Stadium Speedway schedule says it is “Christmas in July” at the shore speedway this Saturday night (July 23)! The evening will feature visits by both Santa Clause and the Grinch, holiday music on the public address system, gifts for many of the fans and professional auto racing for six divisions of stock cars. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. Main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.

On the famous third mile high-banked paved oval the Downs Ford Modifieds will lead the way in a 40-lap main event. Defending champion Steven Reed of Jackson will lead the way with plenty of competition coming from multi-time champ Chas Okerson of Freehold, Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Ron Frees of Brick, Eric Mauriello and Jimmy Blewett, both of Howell, Brick’s Shawna Ingraham and Adam LaCicero of Lavallette just to name a few.

The Surf Side Collision 4 Cylinder Stocks will also be at the top of the bill in a 40-lap event. Point leader Todd Pilla of Bayville, Brick’s Jason Lane and Fred Cannock of Port Monmouth are just a few of the favorites expected to see action.

The Snap-on Sportsman racers will compete in a 30-lap feature race, while the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars will battle in a 25-lap main event and the TQ Midgets will racing in a 25-lapper on the “inner oval.” A special race for drivers over age 40 will also be presented using Legend Cars.

Area NAPA dealers, who will play an important role during the activities, will be awarding nearly $1,000 in prizes to feature winners and will have give-aways for the fans as well. A large contingent of local NAPA dealers is expected to be on hand to enjoy the night’s activities and all of the speedway’s NAPA backed race cars are expected to be on display in the grandstand mid-way early in the evening. The NAPA drivers will be signing autographs by their cars.

Holiday Express representatives will also be on hand to celebrate the season with holiday music.

Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. with main events to follow.

The revised speedway schedule, made necessary by four rainouts this season, is available at wallspeedwayracing.com.
