Racing Friday, August 12, was canceled due to extremes in the weather. The Rochester region has been plagued by drought conditions starting nearly a month ago. With temperatures reaching into the mid-nineties and the 50% possibility of moisture during the afternoon, officials decided to canceled racing on both Friday and drag racing on Saturday.

Spencer Speedway will be hosting The Dave London 50 for Super Stocks on Friday, August 19. London competed in the full fender division at Spencer throughout his short career. His last win at the track came in 1997. He was instrumental in starting the Rochester area auto racing boosters club, known as R.A.C.E.R.

Over $6,000 in lap money alone will be up for grabs. Also on the race card will be the NASCAR Sunoco Modifieds, Super Sixes and the Auto Value 4-Cylinders. The Auto Value 4-Cylinder cars will be running a double point feature race.

Only three weeks remain in the 2016 NASCAR season. This Friday’s races will start at 7:00 p.m. sharp.

Anyone who brings their ticket stub back the following week gets a $3 discount off an adult or senior ticket.

Spencer Speedway is located just fifteen minutes east of Rochester, NY, along Route 104 in the Town of Williamson. Spencer Speedway is the local “ NASC AR Place to Race” for Central New York in 2016. Points earned each week at Spencer are counted into the national NASC AR Whelen All-American Points.
