With an unfavorable forecast that according to the National Weather Service is calling for likely thunderstorms, mainly after noon along with gusty winds, heavy rain and frequent lightning and precipitation above 60%, Mahoning Valley Speedway has taken the proactive initiative to call off Saturday night’s racing.
The temperature is also slated to hit 95 and the heat index as high as 104 also played into the reasoning behind the earlier than normal cancelation.
All attention now moves to Saturday, August 20 for full night of stock car racing beginning at 6:00 pm.
Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods and Hobby Stocks will be in action. The Pro 4s have the night off.
The Hobby Stocks 35-lap/$400-to-win feature that was to take place tomorrow night, August 13, will be held next Saturday, August 20.
Adult general admission is $12. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Grandstands open at 4:00 pm and racing begins at 6:00. Warm-ups will get underway at 4:00.
For those who wish to partake in early paid practice pits will open at 11:30 am with track time beginning at 12:30.
