This past Saturday, Mother Nature finally gave the high banked ¼ mile track of Monadnock Speedway a break from bad weather for the 6th annual Victor Johnson Memorial 100 / Tribute to Marion Fiore presented by Swanzey Oil.

The special event began with a tribute to Mario Fiore with the #44 Modified and former crew members and family trackside along with a special remembrance of Victor Johnson, a former Monadnock Speedway Modified competitor who lost his life in a house fire six years ago.

The Valenti Modified Racing Series made their final stop of the season with Todd Patnode claiming the victory followed by Richard Savary and Donnie Lashua.

The first division on the track were the Young Guns where Jaret Curtis quickly took the lead from pole sitter Alex Barden followed by Chloe Wright. On lap two, Shelby Avery and Chase Curtis made the pass on Wright and began to battle for the third spot. Devin Guy began to pressure Curtis for the fourth spot and made the pass on lap ten and was on his way to chase down Avery. Two laps to go, Guy made the pass on Avery while Chase Curtis was back up to battle Avery again for fourth. Contact was made between Avery and Curtis resulting in Avery to loosing positions. At the checkers it was, Jaret Curtis with the victory followed by Barden, Guy, Avery and Chase Curtis (who was penalized one position for contact made Avery).

Eric Silvernale and Louis Maher led out the Lightning Stock field for their 25 lap main event. Maher jumped out to the lead on lap one as Mike Stebbins took over the second position followed by Silvernale. Maher and Stebbins fought it out for the top spot, with Stebbins claiming it on lap six. The two top runners stretched their lead as Pat Houle ran down Silvernale for third. Houle worked the outside as Silvernale held his ground on the inside to protect third. Houle did not back down, with smoke coming off his tires on each turn, he wheeled around Silvernale on the final lap to take over third. At the wave of the checkers it was Stebbins taking down the win followed by Maher, Houle, Silvernale and Sabins.

The Mini Stocks rolled onto the track as Alexander Pearl led the field to the green. Solomon Brow, who started in the fourth, quickly took over the lead on lap two as Eric Pomasko and Matt Kimball followed. On lap four, a caution slowed the field for Justin Littlewood and Ethan Marsh. On the restart, Brow showed the way as Kimball claimed the second position over Pomasko. Brow stretched out a huge lead while Kevin Mcknight was on the back bumper of Pomasko for third. Laps began to wind down and Kimball was giving everything he had to close the gap between him and Brow. The top runners carefully worked around lap traffic as Kimball began to close the gap. Two laps to go, the caution flag was displayed again, as the lap car of Bill Lambert spun on the front stretch which set up the field for a green, white, checker finish. This was the opportunity Kimball waited for however on the restart Brow held strong as Kimball attempted a final inside pass around turn four for the checkers. McKnight continued to pressure Pomasko for third and at the end, it was Brow celebrating three in a row followed by Kimball, Pomasko, McKnight and Pearl.

Richard Vincent and Dan Comeau ran side by side to set the pace for the Thunder Stocks. Vincent claimed the top spot as Comeau and Jason Kozacka had an early race duel for third. Vincent began to pull away from the field as Comeau felt the presence of Kozacka, Paul Smith and Greg Williams on his bumper. Kozacka saw an opening underneath Comeau and took it over. On lap nine, the field was halted for Bruce Clark who spun coming out of turn two. Vincent, who had a good lead did not want to see this caution as the field was one again tightened up for the restart. At the wave of the green, Vincent held on to the top spot as Kozacka and Comeau ran side by side as Greg Williams put the heat on them both for second. Less than five laps to go, Kozacka reeled in the leader of Vincent and was all over his back bumper giving Vincent a few taps around the track. Williams and Smith continued to battle with Comeau for third. On lap seventeen, Kozacka looked to the inside of Vincent and took the top spot out of turn two. Williams, with a bump and run, took away third from Comeau. On the final lap, it was Kozacka with the win followed by Vincent, Williams, Smith and James Nowakowski. In a post-race inspection, Kozacka was penalized for a rules infraction giving the win to Vincent.

The Super Stocks were led out with Tyler Lescord on the pole for their twenty-five lap feature. At the start, Lescord showed the way as Cole Littlewood who started in second slipped back to fifth spot. By lap three, Lescord felt the presence of Tyler Leary on his back bumper. On lap five, Leary made contact with Lescord causing a caution where both were sent to the rear for the restart. Joel Monahan gained the number spot with his teammate Woody Pitkat on the outside. Hagar, Stange and Littlewood followed. Pitkat placed pressure on Monahan as Stange nudged Hagar’s back bumper in attempt to make the pass for third. On lap twelve, Leary made a bold three wide move into turn three over Littlewood and Bryan Town for fifth. Stange continued to work over Hagar for third as Monahan and Pitkat continued the battle for first. As the field was shown two to go, the heat really turned up with Pitkat on the side of Monahan for lead while Hagar had his hands filled with Stange and Leary for third. On the final lap, Monahan and Pitkat were side by side, with the fans on their feet, it was Pitkat edging out his teammate for the checkered flag. Monahan followed for second. Hagar, Stange and Leary rounded out the top five.

The final Monadnock Speedway division to compete were the Sportsman Modifieds as Dennis Charrette led the field to the green. Charrette developed a good lead as Trevor Bleau and Bill Kimball made the pass on Eric LeClair for second and third early in the race. Kimball, who was on rails, passed Bleau and was on his way to chase down Charrette. On lap eight, the field was under caution as Bleau spun coming out of turn two. On the restart, Charrette could not hold off Kimball and found himself in battle with Nathan Johnson and Cameron Sontag for second. By lap fifteen, Kimball gained a good lead as Johnson tried to run him down. Geoff Rollins moved into the top five and placed pressure on Sontag. On lap twenty- three, the yellow flew again as Frank Hirt went around on the front stretch. This caution tightened up the field as Johnson was granted an opportunity to challenge Kimball for the top spot. Kimball of the green, controlled the lead and pulled away as Sontag did everything he could to hold off his rookie rival of Rollins for third. On lap twenty-nine, Brian Robie made contact with Casey Ouellette causing a pile up in the front stretch which collected Jason Barden and Kim Rivet. As Kimball made his final turn out of turn four, the red and checkered flag was displayed giving him the victory followed by Johnson, Rollins, Sontag and Keith Carzello.
