With nearly a full season of racing in the books, Evergreen Raceway is proud to announce their first annual championship awards banquet, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 12 at Genetti Ballroom in Hazleton.
The top ten in points for the 2016 racing season in the Tour Type Modified, Late Model, Street Stock, Factory Stock and Four Cylinder divisions will be presented awards. The top five points finishers in the Evergreen Modified and Dirt Modified divisions will all receive awards, plus the top three in the Pro Stock points standings. Furthermore, the highest finishing Enduro car that competed with the regular Four Cylinders and Factory Stocks respectively will receive hardware, along with the INEX Legends and Bandolero champions.
“It’s been a long season and we’ve learned a lot during our first season as it progressed”, noted speedway promoter Jason Makarewicz.
“Putting this banquet together for everyone was a real honor. Not just for the champions, but to those who have really supported the track this year.”
He continued, “We have a half decent point fund set aside and as the year’s progress and Evergreen grows, the championship purse will also grow.”
Several drivers have already clinched championships for this season. They include Paul Hartwig, Jr. in the Evergreen Modified division and Ricky Yetter in the Dirt Modified class. Award winners must be present at the banquet to receive their award(s) and recognition.
Banquet tickets are available at the speedway office. Order forms are also available at www.evergreenracewaypark.com. Tickets are $50 each and there will be plenty of food on the menu for the buffet style affair. Award presentations and entertainment will follow the 6 PM dinner.

The next on track event at Evergreen Raceway is slated for Sunday, September 25. The Late Models, Street Stocks, Four Cylinder, INEX Legends and Bandoleros will be on the card.
Grandstand admission is just $8 and children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free with a paying adult.
The pit gate will swing open at 10:30 AM and the pit entrance fee is $30 with a pit license or $40 without. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and heat races will begin at 2 PM. The grandstand gates will open at noon.
