Two Day Spectacular Set for October 8-9



Wyoming County International Speedway (WCIS) management hosted members of the media on Monday September 26th in prelude to the Shootout at the Bullring, a two day racing festival of speed that will be featuring the return of the Mighty Modifieds for the American 100 the weekend of October 8-9th at the 1/3rd mile Perry, NY oval. The Shootout at the Bullring featuring the American 100 will also feature the crowning of the 2016 WCIS track championships for the SST Modifieds, Super Stocks and 4 Cylinders.



The weekend will kick off with an open practice session on Friday October 7th from 4:30pm till dusk. Saturday October 8th, pit gates will open at 8:00am, pre-tech will start at 9:00am, grandstand gates will open at 10:00am and practice will begin. Qualifying will start at 1:00pm. Saturday racing will feature the SST Modifieds in a 100 lap event. The New York Super Stock Series (NYSS) will mark their inaugural event at the Bullring in the running of the Sandra Vogler Memorial 51. The 4 Cylinders will be running a 40 lap main event. Saturday will also feature a practice session for the Modifieds plus there will be a promo event to preview the main event that will take place on Sunday.



Sunday October 9th, the gates will open at the same time with the pit gates opening at 8:00am and the grandstands opening at 10:00am. Racing on Sunday will be the mighty modifieds in the second running of the American 100. Last year’s inaugural event saw Bath, Pennsylvania driver Zane Zeiner pick up the $10,000 payday, holding off perennial favorite Matt Hirschman and Tony Hanbury. Also on the card on Sunday will be the WCIS Super Stocks in their championship event plus the return of the Legends cars. The Vintage Late Models will also return for a exhibition event.



The Modifieds came back to the Bullring on Labor Day weekend for a 75 lap pre-curser that saw “The Hotshoe” Chuck Hossfeld from Ransomville, NY pick up the victory. Patrick Emerling, Zane Zeiner, Earl Paules and Mike Leaty completed the top five. Hossfeld’s victory on Labor Day Weekend saw him leave with $5000 as well as a guaranteed starting spot in the American 100.



The Shootout at the Bullring will also see the crowning of the 2016 track champions at WCIS. In the SST Modifieds, Daniel Majchrzak leads Timmy Lewis Jr by just 34 points (654-620) with Wayne Baker Jr just 48 points out of the lead. In the Super Stocks, defending divisional titlist Dave Krawczyk holds a 58 point lead over Cassie Logsdon and a 67 point lead over Daniel Majchrzak (785-727-718). Krawczyk’s lead is boosted by his eight wins so far in 2016. In the 4 Cylinders, Maddy Virts leads the points chase with 760 points with Jimmy Pierce in second with 733. Jacob Gustafson is 92 points behind Virts going into their championship event.





The Shootout at the Bullring is a two-day event including the American Modified 100, SST Modified 100, NYSS 51, Super Stock 50, 4 Cylinders, Legends and the Vintage Late Models.
