This coming Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, Mahoning Valley Speedway will be hustling with activity.

Saturday evening will be a full six division program of stock car action which includes Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks.

The Jennifer Flanagan Kutz 42 for Late Models will be a key feature that evening as lap money will be posted in this special memorial race honoring Kutz, who passed away last year.

Division titles will be decided in the Dirt Mods and Pro 4s on this night. Eric Beers has garnered enough points to claim his third career track crown in the Modifieds.

In the Late Models, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks this will also be the final point race, however, there are 100 bonus points that will be awarded towards the respective class titles during Octoberfast 2016 which takes place October 22. The Modifieds will also get the 100 bonus points at Octoberfast.

At intermission there will be a Little Tykes Power Wheel Demo Derby sponsored by Brown Daub Kia/Kutz Racing.

Main gates open at 4:00 pm with racing starting at 6:00. Adult general admission is $12. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military. Early paid practice starts at 12:30. Pits are $25 for members and $35 for non-members.

On Sunday, October 9 starting time at 2:00 pm, the speedway will host Enduros and Demo Derby’s.

As much as $2000 will be awarded to the winners of the Small Car Enduro, Big Car and Jr. Enduro provided 80 or more cars are signed-in on race day in each of the respective classes. The complete payoff is listed below which is for all Enduro events.

The price to enter the October 9 Small Car, Big Car and Jr. Enduros is $50 per car which includes the transponder and vehicle. Pit fee is $20 per person and $10 grandstand admission. There is a $2 discount for students, seniors 65+ and active Military in the grandstands.

Also on Sunday is a Big and Small Car Demo Derby. If 20 or more cars are entered in each division the payout will be $800 to win, $400 for second and $200 for third. Heats will pay $100 to the winner.

If there are features only with no heats run the winner’s share will be $600 with $300 and $150 respectively for second and third.

The cost to enter the Demo Derby is $25 per car which includes the driver. The Big Car Demo rules will follow that of the West End Fair while the Small Car Demo rules will be the same as those applied at the recent Carbon County Fair. ALL Demo cars must have the fuel cell and battery mounted and secured behind the driver’s compartment and conform to proper safety regulations.

Octoberfast 2016 closes out the season on Saturday, October 22 beginning at 4:00 pm. Headlining the day will be the Ferris Mowers Race of Champions Modified Series Fueled by Sunoco Tour going head-to-head with the Mahoning steadies. The race will be a distance of 150 laps and pay $5000 to win.

Additionally the Late Models will compete in a 60-lap/$1500 to win main. Street Stocks will go 75 laps and receive $1500 to win plus it is the deciding show for the overall winner of the American Rental Street Stock Gamblers Series. Hobby Stockers will battle in a 40 lap/$400-to-win feature. The All Star Slingshots will round out the show.
