MOMS TO BE HONORED MAY 20

A forecast of nearly a 100 percent chance of heavy rain for the entire day on Saturday has forced Wall Stadium Speedway officials to cancel the stock car auto racing program set for that evening. Racing will resume on Saturday night May 20 with Freehold Ford Modifieds, Snap On Sportsman, Elite Maintenance Limited Late Model and O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks all in action. In addition, a Mechanic’s Race and a Demolition Derby will be presented.

Since the May 13 Mother’s Day weekend celebration was rained out, mothers will be in the spotlight at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday (May 20) evening as moms who enter the grandstand area will be rewarded with a free flowering plant courtesy of John Gasko and Son Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe while supplies last.

Grandstand seating will open this Saturday at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. and main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m. John Gasko and Son Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe will also be the presenting trophy sponsor for all main events.

The Freehold Ford Modified 40-lap main event on the night is important in the race for the season-long driving title. Two-time winner Jimmy Blewett of Howell has looked strong in early season action as has two-time defending champ Steven Reed of Jackson, Shanon Mongeau of Manchester and Andrew Krause of Holmdel.

Also on the card will be 25-lap feature races for the Snap On Sportsman, Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks. In addition cars will be destroyed during the season’s first Championship Demolition Derby!

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.
