After a heavy day-long rain washed out the scheduled stock car races and Mother’s Day celebration at Wall Stadium last Saturday (May 13) evening, speedway officials and representatives from John Gasko and Son Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe have agreed that moms will not be forgotten and will be honored at the stock car races set for this Saturday evening, May 20.
On Saturday moms who enter the grandstand area will be rewarded with a free flowering plant courtesy of John Gasko and Son Farm and Greenhouses in Monroe while supplies last. Gasko will also be the presenting trophy sponsor.

Grandstand seating will open this Saturday at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. and main event racing will follow at 7:00 p.m.

When racing resumes on Saturday night May 20 the Freehold Ford Modifieds, Snap On Sportsman, Elite Maintenance Limited Late Model and O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks will all see action. In addition, a Mechanic’s Race and a Demolition Derby will be presented and vintage racecars will be on display.

The Freehold Ford Modified 40-lap main event on the night is important in the race for the season-long driving title. Two-time winner Jimmy Blewett of Howell has looked strong in early season action as has two-time defending champ Steven Reed of Jackson, Shanon Mongeau of Manchester, Andrew Krause of Holmdel and Derek Hopkinson of Toms River.

Also on the card will be 25-lap feature races for the Snap On Sportsman, Elite Maintenance Limited Late Models and the O’Shea’s Auto Repair Factory Stocks. In addition cars will be destroyed during the season’s first Championship Demolition Derby! Fans will also have the opportunity to witness auto racing’s memory lane as the restored racecars of the Garden State Vintage Stock Car Club will be on display in the grandstand midway.

Pit gates will open at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday; with practice starting at 3:00 p.m. Grandstands will open at 5:00 p.m., qualifying is then set for 5:45 p.m. with main events for all divisions to follow.
