The 2017 Friday night racing season opens this Friday
night at Lee USA Speedway where a track-record $339,000 in prize money
has been posted for various divisions competing at scheduled events.
The weekly Friday night races start at 7:00pm with practice sessions
beginning at 5:00pm.
Winged super-modifieds again will be the NASCAR championship point
division this season at Lee, running weekly qualifying heat races and
30-lap feature events. Winners of each 30-lap feature are guaranteed a
minimum $1,000 with $700 for second and $400 for third.
This season's weekly Friday night purses amount to $180,000. In addition,
three scheduled Valenti modified races, all scheduled as twin 50-lap main
events, and are worth $57,000 in prize money. The 23rd annual Ollie Silva
Memorial Classic for the International Super-Modified Association (ISMA)
offers a $37,500 purse for 24 starters in that 75-lap event on August 11th.
The Granite State Pro Stock Tour has two events at Lee this season
for $19,000 in prize money. The Pro All-Star Series (PASS) makes two
appearances for nearly $20,000 and the American-Canadian Tour Governor's
Cup 150 also hit over $20,000.
The season-ending point standings will determine another $23,636 in
prize money for the top 10 drivers in each division.
Purses for weekly Friday night events are based on car counts in each
racing division. Currently $335,680 is posted this season. That purse
structure could increase by another $20,000 depending on how many additional
cars compete as the season progresses.
Along with weekly 30-lap main events in the super-modified and
sportsman late model divisions, Hobby stocks will run 25-lap features while
"Ironmen" and pure stocks will each have 20-lap main events.
Spectator ticket prices will remain unchanged for the third consecutive
season.
