The mighty modifieds return to Lee USA Speedway in a rare
appearance and a Memorial Day Weekend special event this Saturday afternoon
offering race fans an entirely new race format.
Drivers from throughout New England are entered for Saturday's
"Lee 125" event starting at 2 pm, with practice at noon.
The open-wheel modifieds will run in three 25-lap qualifying heats,
each paying $500 to the winner and $1,400 to the top five. Heat races will
determine starting spots in the 24-car 50-lap feature event paying $3,000
to the winner.
A star-studded field includes Todd Szegedy, Ridgefield, CT, in the
Kevin Stuart No. 85 from Lowell. Woody Pitkat, a multi-time champion from
Sturbridge, Charlie Pasteryak, the former Valenti Modified Series champion
from Lisbon, CT, and Todd Annarummo, a top Seekonk Speedway competitor.
The modifieds will be joined by Pro-4 modifieds, National Legend cars,
Northeast Classic Light stocks and Bandoleros. The four divisions also will
run qualifying heats plus feature races.
