Holland, NY’s Josh Hathaway used a late race pass to win his second career feature event for the Bank of Holland Chargers on Bank of Holland Night at Holland International Speedway. Neal Dietz Jr from Holland, NY returned to victory lane in the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds feature event. Dave Wollaber from Lockport, NY won his second straight NYPA TQ Midget feature. Bob Palmer from Buffalo, NY was declared the winner in the main event for the Advance Auto Parts Hornets. Bryce Norton from Walworth, NY won his second straight triumph for the INEX Legends. Marty Hughes from Holland, NY won the main event for the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.

“The Big Show” Ted Welshans and Rich Carnes brought the field of Chargers to the green flag for the annual Bank of Holland Charger 50 with Welshans taking over the lead. Ted Welshans would lead the opening 17 laps until brother Tim took over control of the field. With the Welshans brothers going at it up front with Tim, Ted, and Nik running in the top three, Josh Hathaway worked his way into fourth and began his trek to the front. After getting around Nik and Ted, Hathaway would go after Tim Welshans for the lead. Hathaway would complete the pass and take over the lead with just four laps remaining and would hold off Tim Welshans to score the win, his second career Charger triumph. A total of three cautions slowed the pace of the 50 lap feature, the first extra-distance race of the season.

Past divisional champion Neal Dietz Jr grabbed the lead from the drop of the green in the 30 lap feature event for the Getzoni Nationwide Insurance Agency NASCAR Pro Modifieds. 2015 track champion Tommy Catalano passed mother Amy for second on the opening circuit and Patrick Emerling raced his way passed Amy Catalano to take third away on lap four. Dietz would open up his advantage over Tommy Catalano and Patrick Emerling. Emerling got loose exiting turn two with two laps remaining while attempting to pass Catalano for second. Dietz would hold off Kevin Miller, who got around Catalano off the late race restart to grab second, Catalano, Sam Fullone, and Amy Catalano would complete the top five.

Tony Petrea and Charlie DiRosa set the front row for the 20 lap feature for the NYPA TQ Midgets with DiRosa jumping into the lead. Dave Wollaber used an outside move to take the lead away from DiRosa and Kyle Hutchinson raced in second. Hutch would take the lead away from Wollaber using the inside groove on lap two with Erik Musto and Tommy Catalano raced inside the top four. Wollaber would regain the lead on lap five with Hutchinson applying the pressure to Wollaber. Wollaber opened his lead over Hutchinson as they raced by divisional rookie Jeremy Conklin. Hutchinson had issues and pulled into the infield on lap eight, giving up the second spot. With Wollaber in command of the field, Erik Musto raced in second with Tommy Catalano, Chad Haywood and Charlie DiRosa scored in the top five at the halfway mark. The battle was on for second with Musto and Catalano as the duo went at it in the closing 10 laps with Catalano taking second away with four laps remaining. Wollaber went on to score his second straight win at Holland. Catalano, Musto, DiRosa and Haywood completed the top five.

Dale Lombardo and Travis Murphy brought the field of Hornets to the green flag but it was Louis Carbone taking the lead away on lap two. Lombardo battled with Bob Palmer and Jeff Szafraniec throughout the event in a three-car battle for second. Carbone pulled away from the field to cross the line first but failed post race inspection. Bob Palmer crossed the line in second and would be credited with his second win of the season.

Josh Marchese took off from the pole in the INEX Legends feature go. Bryce Norton worked from his fifth starting spot to take the lead away on lap two. Kevin Bertelone grabbed second away from Marchese on lap four and would go to reel in Norton. Norton raced on to score the win, his second of the season.

Marty Hughes raced out Joe Mastrocicco III and Louis Carbone to score his second straight win in the M&M U Pull-It Figure 8’s.
