Fall is in the air, which is a telltale sign that northeast short track racing is coming to a close for the 2017 season. On the flipside, it also means that many of the bigger shows are on tap to close out the season, including those at Evergreen Raceway, who will be hosting the American Rental Equipment Modified Series this Sunday.

If 16 or more Modifeds take the green flag, the event winner will pocket a cool $2,000. The Barbush Automotive Street Stocks, Evan’s Roadhouse Four Cylinder and Factory Stocks are also on the card. The 40-lap Four Cylinder feature will pay $450 to the winner and the 50-lap Factory Stock “Duct Tape 50” will be held in memory of Ed Makarewicz, Sr. There is also lap money on the line for the popular Factory Stock event. Adult grandstand admission for the show is just $15.

Also, the Modifieds and Factory Stock divisions will be out on the racing surface during intermission to meet and greet the fans for an afternoon autograph and camera session.

As part of the New York Street Stock Series,” Sleepy’s 75-lap Street Stock Shootout” will take place on Sunday, September 17. The Four Cylinders, Legends and Bandoleros are also on the card. Due to the number of rainouts this season, especially for the Himmer Graphics Late Models, track management has added the division to the lineup with a points paying show on September 17. Adult grandstand admission is set at $12.

“Slam the Stands” is slated for Sunday, September 24. For just $5 adult grandstand admission, folks will be able to enjoy a jam packed afternoon of action. Race goers will also have the opportunity to receive autographs from their favorite drivers, who, as a part of fan appreciation day, will be out on the race track with their cars during intermission. Big wheel race for the kids will also take place during intermission. The Late Model, Street Stock, Four Cylinder and Strictly Stock division are on the card for the afternoon.

The pit gates will swing open for regular Sunday shows at 10:30 AM. Practice will kick off at 12:30 PM and racing will begin at 2 PM. The grandstands will open at noon. Grandstand admission for each event is just $12. Pit admission is $35.

Evergreen Raceway is located minutes from Hazleton, PA, in between routes 93 and 309.
