It's been a landmark for 60 years but now the Selinsgrove Speedway in Snyder County is under the caution flag.
On race night stands fill up with more than 1,000 race fans, but that might come to an end. The Dautless Hook and Ladder Company owns a stake in the speedway. They want to expand the fire company and could get the money by selling the raceway.
"Overall, we're looking at approximately $2 million. That's not just for the social hall. We're looking at also liquidating all of our debt and investing the rest, using the earnings for day-to-day operations," said fire company treasurer Ken Stettler.
A housing developer has made an offer to buy the land and build houses there, but fans want to save the speedway, so they're trying to raise the money to help the fire company.
A decision should be made within the next few months.
