All most people are talking about is the "restrictor plate controversy." It's seems to be a no-winner for NASCAR, darned if they do, darned if they dont". I may be missing it, or maybe don't understand the whole deal. I know it's a complicated matter, but does it really matter if you'rE doing 190 or 200mph ? At that speed, it seems toO fast to matter ?

Without the plates, the cars would be running around 220-230 MPH (I believe it was Rusty Wallace who did some kind of engineering test at Talladega last year without a plate who ran that fast). Too fast, in my opinion. Restrictor plates, the packs are too bunched together, and the racing isn't as good. Perhaps running a smaller engine at Daytona and Talladega would lower the speeds while still keeping the racing exciting?
