Everyone knows that Flemington Speedway is destined for several big box stores and who knows what else. :*-( I encourage everyone to sign a petition to save the speedway. I know its probably tOo late now, but show your support and show these greedy people in Flemington how many people what (WANT?) it reopened. I signed it tonight, I was #1231. I was reading the memories that people left on that site and that's what's fueling this post. It sucks to see such a great place full of memories and histoRy get bulldozed down for stores that the rich people in that area won't even shop in! Once the day comes when the speedway is torn down, I WILL NEVER GIVE THE TOWN OF FLEMINGTON, ESPECIALlY THE STORES ON THAT PROPERTY, ONE PENNY!
This how the county and state preserves a historical landmark, by turning their backs in the interest of money.
Here is the website http://www.petitiononline.com/njdr/petition.html
See you all at NASCARE.

I think it would be a great idea, but the guardrail has already been removed and it is such disrepair that it is far beyond gone. On south jersey dirt racing in 3-wides vault there are some very recent photos. It is very sad that it was so poorly supported after it was paved. I am probably one of the only fans that thought it was better asphalt than dirt-and I am a primarily dirt racing fan.
