Brian Defebo leads the modified points and leads the division with six wins. Dave Pecko isn’t letting Defebo run away with the show, as he has three wins and by any means isn’t out of the championship hunt.

With four consecutive feature wins, Larry Fisher has dominated in the late model division, but Joe Hoffman sits a quiet second. As one driver mentioned in victory lane last week, the last show of the season is for double points, and the late model division may come down to the wire!

A few weeks of bad luck for the top two street stock drivers has shuffled around the standings for the tightest points race of all divisions. Jim Yamelski has two wins and hangs on to a slim 2-point lead over Scott Meckes. Brad Kline has now dropped to third in the standings.

Only 37 points separate the top two in the thriller standings. With only one feature win this season, Uncle Petey holds on to first over Dr. Destruction, but a hard charging Bill Price has five feature wins and follows Petey by only 47 markers. Only 199 points separate the top five in the standings.

Another dramatic point battle is shaping up in the four cylinder thrillers. Over the last few weeks, Chris Walk has cut into Joe Grocholski’s lead. Last week, Grocholski went on to finish second in the feature, ahead of Walk and stretching out his championship lead to 54 points. Here’s another tight points battle, as any driver in the top six (183 points from sixth to first) can very well walk away with the division crown.

Other notes of interest: Balliet’s Country Corners becomes the modified division sponsor, Billy B. becomes the speedway’s co-promoter, fans enjoy the ‘Mountain Lottery’, and little fans are ecstatic over the Mountain Speedway teams bike give-a-ways.
