I was wondering why so many DQ'S in the large car? :help:

We'd have to find out the exact reasons from Craig (tech man) but I imagine too many guns at a knife fight? I think Howie brought his two seater for the Checkered Dreams Kids rides Knowing he may not be legal. Petey?..who knows with him...he probably just wanted to have fun with the "Tetnus mobile". It was a "non-points event". I applaud Howie for his un-selfishness and to Petey..."I guess life can't suck enough".
The others I could not say at this point what exactly got them DQed....I did not question my tech man on it. I trust him entirely.

At least 2 of the DQ's were for unequal length swaybar links.

Congrats to Ray, He is the man...

I was listed as finishing last in the 4 cyl...I must have forgotten to run a car I did not know I had...

I was paid a visit from the "flat fairy" but I still had a good time with my NEETS family.

Unfortunately, due to "budgetary constraints", I was strictly a spectator this time, but that's really fun, too! (Although sitting there watching, I had to ask myself: What in the world made me want to try this?? :) )

I have to applaud everyone (oh yeah, I guess I can: :applause: ) for a variety of things:

* Clean racing. Everyone does a great job trying not to take each other out. Enough of that happens without trying!

* Efficient line ups and transponder checks. Very smooth!

* Making an attempt to add a red-flagger in 3 & 4. Clearly needed.

* Cracking down on cars late to stop under red (although in most cases, it was obviously unintentionally done).

* Everyone NOT piling up on the aborted 4-cyl start (I thought for sure I was about to see a 40-car wreck, including the flag man! ).

* The never-say-die enduro spirit... lots of examples, but top "kudo" has to go to the #19 4-cyl rollover car (hmm, I see an opportunity for Cingular sponsorship there!).

Again, great show everyone!

I was in victory lane when most of the guys got their DQs, from the few I heard about, some where different sized tires, some were the sway bars and poor Howie, they just gave each other 'the look' and he knew he was done for...

One thing I have to say about the NEETS races... There may be a lot of DQ's, but at least they are accurate enough to do tech BEFORE the vic lane shots. Thank you. This is for Billy especially, if Mountain ever decides to change nights, you need to work in some time for a 'quick' tech inspection of the winner while Geno does his thing before I do my thing...or something like that. We were both stuck at the track until 1AM when the thriller class got torn down one night, I've never stayed until even 8PM at a NEETS event...not considering parties... Do what you do best Billy, find a way to do something with the mountain races similar to the NEETS races. It's a big help finding out who the right winner is and getting the right shots, you know what i mean?

See you later,
Joe

PS, despite DQ's, you all put on one h*ll of a show! :D

:applause: :applause: :applause: I had no idea that Howie was only bringing the car for the kids........Howie you're the greatest :applause: :applause:

Aaron had an awesome time, he loved his ride and from the emails I'm getting, the families were so impressed with how the drivers made the kids feel!

All the teams deserve a big applause!!!!!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

Thanks again

Glad to here that the kids and their families enjoyed the day. :) That's what it's all about. :applause: :applause: :applause: I'm happy to have played a small part in that. :)
As for the race, I have to say I haven't had that much fun in quite some time.
Maybe it was the fact that it wasn't a points race or maybe because I had a passenger or both. :D :D
Looks like I'm going to have to change my name to ...Dr.DQ...

Well half of Del Thunder has been destroyed, but I hope to have the MC17 back in action for the next one. Tough luck Mike, hopefully we will race each other again. Look out soon for a third Del Thunder team car in the 4cyl!!! The South will eventually rise. lol!! Great job, Ray, on a smooth ride. I love this place, and will continue to support all your efforts Billy B. Thanks for givin' the low buck guys a home-maybe dirt does suck? :D
