With all the tracks closing because of high gas (prices), is Mt. Speedway still racing this Sunday starting at 2pm? Big Diamond closed; I hear Grandview might close after freedom 76? Thanks. kinserfan11 :disgusted

I sure hope it doesn't close. Check out this thread: http://racerhub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7449
Hope that helps.

To be honest, I am very surprised tracks actually closed due to the current gasoline crisis which is set to ease up in weeks to come.

I cannot speak for other tracks, but at Riverhead the crowd was just as strong last weekend as previous weekends even with higher gas prices.

Maybe the situation is different elsewhere...

Gas has already eased up, just last night alone it dropped to $2.99 and even less in other places. I live a skip and a hop away from Mountain Speedway...so therefore, I highly doubt Joe will shut the show down. After all, they raced last weekend, did you see the prices then?! I haven't any worries.

Mountain is not closing. The schedule is as planned.

Just to mention--been told-Big Diamond won't even consider opening if they
don't think they can get at least 2500 admissions at the gate..whether it's
rain, not ready, gas prices, etc...
