The "Old Lion" will roar tonight. RJ this is your time. Run it the way you know how and it'll all fall into place. At least you know you've got one person out there rootin for you (lol). Run it hard but smart, see you tonight.

Congrats Roger,

I guess the Red Sox do win World Series... About time... They say after the first one, the rest come easy. At least that's what I hear.

Congrats!

Gotta say this my good friend-I had those "goosebumps" after that first lap incident, but once you got under way, it was like "look out-here I come". You did what you had to do to maintain your lead and, as that old time commentator used to say, "now you know the rest of the story". :applause: :applause: :applause:

BTW-can someone possibly correct me, but has there ever been a late model winner, in recent memory, to lead from start to finish in the points?

Possibly 2002, when Scott Kulesa won the first race and did win the championship... If someone wants to tally the points, you can find the old results at http://longislandjam.com/oldstats/LateModels/results02/

Well then it hasn't happened at the very least since 1999. I have checked all records from 2000-2005 and it hasn't occurred during that time.

Here's an interesting stat... First week winners and their point finishes

2000 - 17x - Joe Cerabino - 9th
2001 - 23 - Kevin Metzger - 2nd
2002 - 10 - Scott Kulesa - 1st
2003 - 68 - Buzzy Eriksen - 5th
2004 - 1x - Dave Brigati - 2nd
2005 - 39 - Roger Oxee - 1st

Seems if you start the season off on the right note, you do pretty well. Something to keep in mind for next season.

I think the 2 did it. Bertuccio won 1st night and never looked back. I could be wrong.
