Any thoughts on having an actual NEETS touring series to travel to different tracks one year? I believe NEETS has been to Wall and Bridgeport, am I correct? I remember seeing a 137 car Enduro at the 5/8 mile clay track in Bridgeport about 8 to 10 years ago, and a NEETS race at Wall Stadium about 2 or 3 years ago..

When NEETS first started in 2003, we did tour different tracks, both dirt and asphalt. We were at Wall, but not at Bridgeport. Bridgeport had their own enduros and weren't really interested in having NEETS there for a show at the time. We had a lot of problems with touring, there was a lack of cooperation from promotors/track officials that were totally unprepared for us to be at their track. Scoring was a complete nightmare as we had to manually handscore because most tracks didn't/don't have transponder scoring. Plus, not too many members were really into traveling that much, it's expensive to do, it makes for a very long day for most and you never know whats going to happen when you go to an "away" track. Officials could decide that they aren't going to let you race at the last minute, does anyone remember Accord Raceway?? :disgusted
However, things may be different now that NEETS makes up a much bigger force now then when we first started. We may receive better treatment, we won't know unless we try again. Billy's Monster Series is going to be traveling to different tracks, hopefully ones with transponder scoring  so we'll see what kind of a reception that will receive and probably take it from there.

Thanks NJ,
I knew they were at Wall, but like I said about 8 years ago I saw an Enduro Race at Bridgeport (which has transponders now) and it had 137 cars in it. Don't remember what orginazation it was, but it was one of my first times going to Bridgeport, and that sort of got me hooked on that track. Also Saw a big one at Flemington about one year before they closed up. That, too, got me hooked and I only visited back one more time since it was a 2 1/2 hour drive from Delaware. Then they closed down. Then, Wall Stadium came into play about three years ago when I saw on their schedule, two enduros (the big cars and the 4 cyl {NEETS}) plus they had their regular divisions of mod., street stocks, and trucks. But now Flemington gone, Wall is a hike for me and the Bridgeport Enduros they used to run, were a lot better then what they run there now every weekend with the outlaw stocks. They're only averaging 10 to 20 cars a race. What kind of an Enduro only runs 15 cars in it??? Then all of a sudden, BAM!!! I saw a heading "Over 150 well-prepared holiday themed enduro cars and trucks hit Mountain Speedway Sunday for the second annual Drews Enterprises 'Beaters with Heaters' That gave me goosebumps. Two weeks later, I came home with a 1992 Ford Escort from the junkyard for $400. This was after the Labor Day event last year and my car was ready for the Frank-Enduro in October.

Even with some of the problems that we encountered with the NEETS touring division during its inaugural year (2003), the racing was the best I've ever had the pleasure to experience in my enduro career........................ :applause:
It brought some of the best enduro drivers "out of the woodwork" and enabled them to compete on different paved and dirt tracks all over the Northeast............................
But, most importantly, it cultivated some of the best enduro racing camaraderie and friendships........................... :)

Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy going to the different tracks, we never would have had the chance to race at most of them if it weren't for NEETS. The racing itself was awesome and we've met the greatest people from all over because of it. I guess it's just because I witnessed all the behind the scenes things that went on, as an official it wasn't always too much fun, but I'm certainly willing to give it another whirl if we do take our show on the road again. :p
EndurofromDE, I saw my first enduro at Flemington....hmmm...Flemington... and contracted the fever myself.
I screamed through the whole race, I thought it was the greatest thing I ever saw! Glad you saw that headline for the Beaters with Heaters, welcome aboard!!
