A great friend of mine and a new member to the racing community has suddenly become very ill. Nick Deane, who works for me in the winter but is better known for the being the owner of NICK'S ON THE BEACH in Montauk and one of the proud sponsors of John Fortins' #84 Modified, has been diagnosed with brain & lung cancer. Although he is in very high spirits, he will have his bad days, and when he does, I wanted to have him know his new friends in the racing community want to see him at the track again soon. Get well soon Nick.

My prayers go out to Nick and his family. I know all too well what they are going through. My Mom is suffering from the same ailment and has been for over 3 1/2 years.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family...although I don't know you personally, I've always been amazed at how the racing community can pull together and provide a support system unlike any other I've ever seen. Here's to a positive attitude (and, as I understand it - and I'll probably get in trouble for posting this here - if you ever need to be cheered up, Mortgage Guy and his twin supposedly do a pretty good B52's routine that should make you smile)!

The great part of the original post was he is in "VERY HIGH SPIRITS" Thank God for that optional mind set Nick has, which is one of the most powerful things a human can possess. Chin up, My prayers are with you .
