Gary Cretty I believe went from 396 to 96 when NASCAR stopped the 3 digits.

Ummm, Tower, I know Clarence Harris had the #96 Blunderbust (I'm picturing a green and white car)...I'm not sure about the others.

Actually Mortgage Guy, Howie Brode drove the 96 Late Model not charger. I'm pretty sure at least.

Howie Brode started in Chargers in a #96. Not sure about LM, I think he went from Charger to Mods.

Clarence Harris registered to move up to Chargers, but I don't remember if he ever actually raced anything but BB. HE was a good driver, always doing the right thing, a very good competitor.

Lastly, yes, Gary Cretty had to erase the 3 from his 396 when NASCAR went to only 2 numerals on the car.

Finally, back in the 70's at Freeport, George Miezejewski of W. Islip drove a #96 LM & Lou Coppola from Williston Park drove a #96 Bomber.

Brode actually drove the #53(Paul Galvin) BB for one race and then started his Charger career. He then raced LM and eventually Mod. He has been successful in all 3 divisions he has competed in full time

Clarence ran Bombers,Street Stocks, etc before returning to BB action. He did drive a #0 Charger briefly after leaving the BB division.

I think Bill Norton ran the 96 in the chargers for a few years. Mid to late 90's.
