I've bought both of mine off ebay (parts cars). Don't really have access to many spare cars. Where does everyone find theirs? Do junk yards typically have operational vehicles? Just looking to get everyones input.

Junk yards, random people selling cars, you can drive past a home and find a car in the front lawn with a for sale sign on it for a very reasonable price...depends where you live.

Petey gets his from "Planet X" (43rd planet from our sun) where all life forms drive mid 80s GM cars. (Where do you think they come from)?
He has them beamed down, runs them through his Hyperbolic-metalurgic-transfer Ion machine to remove any traces of radiation....then he applies a yellow and blue antimatter protective coating topped off with a special hypnotic "43" on the doors which acts as an "Orb of confusion" when viewed by other drivers. He then places the "Peteybot" in the drivers seat and runs the vehicle via remote control from a hidden spot in the pits. (Did ya ever see Petey himself him get out of the car???? NO).
The only problem with the #43 Enduro ship is he cannot figure out why the metal in the axles changes its molecular structure in Earths atmosphere. They tend to break very easily, lol.
I have heard Petey say that if he keeps having the same luck with his home planets vehicles, he may go to the planet Mercury and buy a Ford, hehe.

We spotted a Talon on the road with one of those day-glo orange "TOW THIS NOW" stickers. Knocked on the door and bought it; he called a couple of weeks later and gave us some new plugs and wires he never installed. 5 cars were donated by family and friends. Bought 2 very good cars from Ty Spier which were listed on the NEETS "For Sale" page. Some homeless guy was living in a car in the parking lot of a shop near me. He disappeared and the shop owner asked me to "take care of it". So I put it in the 4 cyl demo derby! (got second place) A customers daughter ran off and joined a cult. She left a truck with no title, so I'm going to help him out, too. I installed an exhaust on a Beretta in exchange for a Ford Tempo. And an acquiantance is donating a Granada that has been adorning his yard to his wife's dismay. Another shop bought a Sentra for the tranny and fender, he gave it to us. We pulled the motor for a (*secret weapon*) that lost a timing belt.

eBay has been a total bust for me, but it is a good place to find parts. Also try www.car-part.com

My first one was a winter beater I bought so I didn't have to drive my Mustang in the winter. It broke down 4 times in as many months. I was going to scrap it but MVS started a 4cyl enduro class. I'm a regular at fordexp.com and my 2nd car I bought off another member there for $200. My third one my brother spotted sitting in a field behind a garage he delivered uniforms to. Not sure if it was a customer who didn't pay or a car he had tried to sell but no one wanted. $150 and I drove it on the trailer. The one I have now my dad bought for $40 to run in the demo derby at the fair. He didn't last too long so I'm "borrowing" it. I have to give it back to him when I'm done with it so he can get the scrap money :). I have another one sitting waiting to be built I got off the same person from fordexp.com this time for free. My brother the lucky SOB just got a running 98 Escort for free from some guy he knows.

Hey thanks for the shout out Bob.

You all would be suprised where you can find cars. The majority of the time I hit up my friends personal junkyard. I also have friends that like to beat cars until they can only be used in an enduro race or derby. ;) I wouldn't recomend eBay. I only got one car off there. I have a couple for sale right now on the NEETS page.

I think it may have to do with the increased gravity here on earth. On planet x, the force of gravity is much less. Unfortunately, so is the concentration of oxygen. I've heard that numerous trips to the planet can result in a lack of oxygen to the brain. I haven't seen any evidence of that though, or have I?
(great post Billy)

I'm always keeping my eyes open for a talon like car. My escort just can't handle anywhere near what those cars can do. Maybe a trip to the local junk yards is in order. Thanks for everyones input.

...one of the good guys who help make NEETS a great organization.

When we fried the motor in the Talon, Joe Grocholski (Masley Auto 570-636-2690) found us a motor at a good price on zero notice and installed it in time for the next race. Then we blew the motor in the Monte and Joe found a good motor at a good price in a week. He has a bunch of cars and parts and rents enduros, too. Give him a try.
