I believe Bill Wegmann Jr. ran the #76 Late Model for a short time (the old Gary LaMountain car)

If memory serves me correctly, I believe John Blewett won a championship in the early 80's at Islip.

I may have been a bit young, but I'm pretty sure I saw this car (http://longislandjam.com/news/specials/chromehorn/flemington/slides/1994%20roc%20(3).html) at Riverhead in the early part of the 90's. Can't anyone confirm this and tell me I'm not losing it? LOL

Yes you did. That's John Blewett Jr. He also ran the black, I believe, Ideal Kitchens, #09 at Riverhead also.

It must be really tough to find track champions when this site lists them....
John Blewett, Jr. won the 1982 Islip and 1986 Riverhead Modified titles.

Hey Mark. Did he have any at Wall or New Egypt?

John Blewett, Jr. won New Egypt Modified titles in 1980, 1981, 1984 and 1985. He never claimed a Wall title though after all the years he raced there which included 22 Modified victories from '76-'92.
Since we're on the New Egypt and Blewett angle, the final asphalt Modified (small block actually) champion there in 1996 was John Blewett, III with his #5.
