I liked how in the previous photo that Mr. Royce/Royle had Islip Rookie of the Year on his right front fender! I guess they couldn't forget that...... :rolleyes:

A little off topic here, but 310 could probably verify that at this point in time over 40 cars would show up on any given night for the 25 car feature. I can understand the pride of being ROTY. JMHO.

Absolutely correct. When I started in 1974, an average of 50 to 60 cars would be there for a 24 car feature. It wasn't easy to qualify, as 2/3 of the cars went home with the $5 "tow money". There were also quite a few rookies every year, so it was quite an accomplishment!!!
