Last Night there was a ceremony inducting 8 into the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame.

Men and a women from all areas who have risen above and accomplished so much. Notre Dame's Athletic Director of the past 5 years, who is from Amityville. A high school football coach who had won 7 consecutive titles. A gymnast coach who not only succeeded locally, but has been the only person from The United States who has represented us as a judge in 2 Olympic competitions. Etc...etc...

Hall members Buddy Harrelson and Marty Lyons were both in attendance. As well as a crowd of about 500 people at a lavish banquet.

Each inductee was introduced by a 5 minute speech giving an overview of their life and accomplishments. And then each inductee gave a speech thanking those who helped them along the way to achieve this honor. It rang so true the importance of good family, good friends and good colleagues in helping us live our lives, and achieve as we do such.

Wayne made Long Island's racing community proud last night. His achievements stacked right up against the others. He also gave a very, very good speech thanking our community and those close to him for allowing him success.

Congratulations Wayne!
