Isn't he doing this with his old back up car and a bunch of spare parts? What a job he's doing!

Yup! You can still see the weld marks, the number is spray painted on, while parts of the car are red, others are a silver primer, and the back is a mix between red, white, and black pieces. If you were to just see the car and not know the winning history behind it for this season, he wouldn't receive great odds for winning in the feature. The car is just proof that it doesn't have to be pretty to be fast and know its way around the track.
