Dale Jarrett has just quit Robert Yates racing.....That is huge if it is true...

If it is true who do you put in the car?????

It's been on the news down here in Charlotte the last few days, first that he was going to make an announcement and then that he did. I believe they said he is going with toyota and Michael Waltrip but not until next year. If I hear more I'll add on, not sure how reliable my local news station is yet though because I'm new here! :wave: :wave: :wave: :wave:

Jarrett's in the car for the Coca-Cola 600 at least; he was 34th in first practice. I guess it wouldn't be cool for him to bail out on RYR before this race, considering that Jarrett's on the Coca-Cola Racing Team. I just checked NASCAR.com and there's nothing posted about him having quit.

I also think Ward Burton would be an excellent choice for that ride when Jarrett goes.

Amazing, isn't it, how that organization has gone from the penthouse to the outhouse in such a short time.

No, this is as of right now......He was in the car for practice (which is taped) and then resigned. It was heard by my dad on XM radio. Make sure you watch SPEED for qualifying at 7pm to see if it is true.

Hey, maybe Ward will be in the car sooner than we think. He certainly can't do any worse than Jarrett is doing. I used to like Jarrett, but lately he always blames everyone else when things go wrong. He never looks in the mirror. Perhaps he is having a hard time coming to the realization that his best days may well be behind him.

If it's true that he quit on the spot, Coca-Cola (and UPS) can't be very happy. That might also squash any chance that UPS would go with Jarrett to Toyota next year.

On that note, I think I'll go and watch qualifying.

I'm watching qualifying right now as i write this and they have yet to say anything about this. Makes me very curious to see who i'm going to be watching in the 88 car seeing im leaving for Charlotte tomorrow.

According to the press release issued by the team (now to be known as "WHAM-BAM" Racing), "both Mast and Trickle are very happy with the new position, and with the support of the new sponsor. They're really pleased with the #49 Dodge, and they vow to get it up to the front more frequently. I also hear Elliot Sadler is looking to leave Yates, so maybe Baldwin keeps his job and hooks up with Ward again. But I seem to recall they didn't get along too well... maybe it was the language difference....
