Just want all my friends in the the racing world know that my dad (Richie Thorbin) passed away this week at Desoto speedway at age 62. Believe it or not, he was still racing with his youngest son Keith and and grandsons. Dad has taken his last checkered flag, but I bet those of you who knew dad will know that he would not have wanted it any other way but to die doing what he truly loved to do. My dad is being buried in St. PETERBURG, FLA. on WEDNESDAY. I know he does have a couple of guys I know of up there to show him the way around. If there is a way, I know they will burning up some asphalt up there too. "Happy Fathers Day Dad"
