Thanks to Kevin Green (freelance photographer for New Jersey Dirt Racing) there will be a plaque for the hard charger in each division at this years banquet.
The hard chargers are calculated from the number of cars that are passed during each feature raced. Positions gained, as well as positions lost are tabulated throughout the season.
If a driver is scheduled to start first but elects to start from the rear and finishes 5th out of 20 cars, they really lost 4 spots calculated as if they started 1st). Another example: If a driver starts 10th and finishes 3rd, they are +7 spots, etc. etc. In other words, each driver’s ORIGINAL starting position is used. DQ’s count as basically finishing last and there isn’t a minimum race limit.
