About an hour and a half ago (10AM about), I drove past the track, and there were surveyors there, doing their thing.. It was on track property, in the pouring rain.. Anyone got any info on this? What is the deal with that?
Why would there be surveyors at the track surveying?

to see how feasable it would be to install new beer stands?

Or maybe to see where they can put a functioning ladies room in the pits?

Maybe to get the exact delineation of the property lines, since it's probably been years since it was done. Maybe a new fence or something that requires such surveys is being put up, or may they are building a bigger beer booth, what with the increased usage it gets now that the TURN 1 COWBOYS are growing in number, LOL!

cowboys are petitioning a beer stand in turn 1, I heard the rumour last week from Jayski.

It doesn't have to be for the track. They need good reference points for any plotting in the area. But keep an eye out, if you live long enough, you might see it sold. I've been watching it for 50 yrs and they have not made a donut store out of it yet.

I just was concerned.. Normally when you see surveyors, well, let's just say it isn't to build new beer stands.. I was also reminded of something someone mentioned last year, or maybe the year before.. Something about a title change or title search or something.. I can't quite recall, but after seeing the surveyors, my mind started to think again..

I agree, the track has been "sold" for as long as I can remember, but usually with those rumors not an eyelash has fallen out of place.. In other words, there was never anything that would indicate a sale. But seeing surveyors there was a bit shocking, kinda got the nervous juices flowing..

Well I do know for a fact that ANOTHER title search was just done on the property. So the survey could have something to do with that....BUT (CAPITAL "B")......a title search could be done for numerous reasons besides selling. But.....it is what it is.

I really think that deep down everyone was thinking the same question as allhailunc's to themselves.

This last title search was done by a major furniture company.

 Actually I was thinking maybe really Tony Soprano bought it and now we'll have Meadow in the beer stand, Christopher running a different kind of scam in the pits and AJ doing his thing in the stands. The plus side to that would be the food would be better..LOLOLOLOL :-B
I think the closest the place has really come to being sold was on the show. :applause:

Maybe, just maybe, the Cromarty's are turning the property over to another family member.....and I do believe a full survey has to be done.....Just a simple thought.....

Ah, RGee, a sane voice in the widerness of wild speculation. Thank you!!

Maybe they are surveying for the new 1/2 mile track that will replace the present track with new high rise grandstands and a grand new press box with luxury boxes..........

Just then Jaws woke up and the taxicab race from Louden was still going. Darn just a dream, going back to sleep.

Yes, I too am tired of no facts and just speculation, so I thought a POSITIVE speculation was in order!!!!! And there was issues with the next door property when they wiped out the trees, so could be something with that also.......

You might also notice that the LIPA property next door was done as well. Gee, maybe they're going to sell their poles and power lines, too. LOL, let it drop.

If you have been reading the newspaper (News Review) you would know that plans are in place to increase rt 58 to 4 lanes from the expressway to the circle.

Have you NOT heard of Keyspan's plan to sell themselves, assets and all, to National Grid, LOL.

Seriously, my next door neighbor has had at least 2 surveys done in the last few years, and isn't moving anywhere. Sometimes, it's just so everyone involved knows the actual location of their property line, for whatever reason they need to know it. Like RGee pointed out, it may just have something to do with the 'unauthorized deforestation' project on the property next to the track.

I guess we should just wait and see.

maybe it is like.. the owners may be re-financing the property to get an equity loan to improve the track in one way or another, such as expanding it it to 3/8th or buy something else, or whatever personally the owners would like to do..
Remember what Bob Finan stated last week; he said over the PA system put all rumors to rest, the Cromarty's opening date for 2007 is May 7th? It's not going to be a Lowes, Home Depot, ETC.. ..

I personally think the track is the perfect size. No need to make it bigger. Maybe they're paving the parking lot. But then again if they did that the guy who sells shovels would be out of business.Lol :D

He would become the "HARDWARE MANAGER" at Lowes/Homedepot. We don't need anymore home improvement warehouse's on L.I. Other options are available to the Homeowner, :help: what's really needed is... more "RACE TRACKS" and more "HOTDOG TRUCK"S" (burrrrrrp) : :-B

I think we've explored all the realms of the imagination.

One thing is certain, Bob Finan said opening night is May 7, and that's to stay.

Let's keep this to a close, before it gets out of hand...
