I think they are still discussing that one and all the dates can change, not finalized. Not sure how many will show up on Easter Sunday:wave:
I usally go to my realatives that day.
yea my mom wont be happy if i have to race on easter:help:
I dont like it, but I would most likely be there.
i voted , lets just race ,im ready lol
oh im ready too, but nascar doesnt even race on easter. personally, i just think its an insult to "you know who" and im not very religious... but im confident it will be changed to the weekend after
AMEN to that!:p
More than likely our whole team (3 cars) will be missing the first race of the season. Easter Sunday? Come on...:disgusted:rolleyes:
As stated, NASCAR even takes that Sunday off
im shore we wont be lookin for easter eggs at grandview lol
Easter egg hunt at grandview sounds good to me
But if we're changing dates....how about Sept 5th...it conflicts with Riverhead :*-(:(
They had an egg hunt last year for the kids..........Critter you willing to bring your car up there on a Saturday night to have the kids aim at your car. I think they were finding plastic eggs though. I am sure someone can provide the real thing though! Sounds like fun:wave:
All cars have to carry 1 easter egg, and at the end of the race, you get a bonus for a unbroken egg. (yeah there not hard boiled)
that will small good... eggs frying on the floorboards!mmmmm!
GOT BACON!
im game , lets do it hahahaha but im shore the race will be moved
Even if the race is the 11th we could do the egg thing, it would be a first.....who can dress up as the bunny though?
well thats a bumb question u get me a bunny suit ill do it :help:
That race date will be changed. Joe missed the fact that that day was Easter.
He said that it would be changed at the banquet. You guys must not be of the Jewish faith either.
Phil
I seriously dont even understand why there is the question whether if we should race on easter or not...
And by the way, I have an easter bunny suit...and a Gumby suit...
A Gumby suit...... Id rather not know.
here ya go
oh man its grn ,:help: ill wear , bring it to a race and ill ride in the back of the truck for the 4cyl pace laps lol
Where are the Bunny suit pictures?
Penn National always held their opening night on Easter Sunday and Big Diamond raced on all Sunday afternoons in April until just a couple years ago. It's not exactly a strange occurance around here.
But if the following Sunday is available, it seems to make sense to avoid Easter.
any suit anytime ill wear it proud lol ,and by the looks of things i say we are racin the 11th
As Gary stated, Easter Sunday races have taken place before. They were also very successful. Penn National. An evening start allows people to enjoy Easter Sunday with their family. Dinner is complete, everyone is together, and you are looking for something to do in the evening. And there it is. An Easter Sunday evening race. I think it would work. But I certainly understand the concerns about it.
well im shore neets being a family place will want us all to be with family that day , and i dont think we run under the lights if needed , im shore the right decision will be made , and goin by the voting it looks like it will be the 11th
If it's anything like last year, pit gates are going to open in the morning, tech by lunch time, and racing not long after that. Racing usually doesn't end until late in the afternoon and some people have a big distance to drive home, essentially missing EVERY meal time of that day, and the holiday all together.
Not trying to be the bad guy here or anything, but look at the grandstand numbers from 2009 for NEETS events; which way do you think the number of spectators is going to go for an Easter Sunday race? I would be willing to be the grandstands will be near empty and the car count half of what it was.
I'm sure other tracks do have Easter Sunday events, and maybe they are successful in doing so. I could also be wrong about what would happen with a NEETS event being held on Easter at Grandview. All I can say is our immediate fans (family/friends) which consists of on average 15-25 people in the stands, PLUS our 3 car team, will NOT be there.
