Mahoning Valley Speedway Opener Postponed

(LEHIGHTON, PA 4-16-11) The racers, fans and track personnel at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway were all set to go racing for the first time this season but unfortunately rain put an abrupt stop to the much anticipated 2011 season opener.

The events slated for April 16 have been postponed until Saturday, April 23 with a 6:00 pm start time.

The track is expecting a star-studded field of Modified aces for the region’s first major short track pavement event of the year, Hand One of the Modified 100 Poker Series. The 100 lap feature will pay $3000 to win.

Also on tap will be Mahoning’s support classes of Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods and Pro4 Late Models. Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 pm.
