Mahoning Valley Speedway Opener ….. ‘The Sequel’

Mahoning Valley Speedway will make another try at getting its season opener in this coming Saturday night, April 23 after the previous week’s attempt was postponed due to rain.

The highlight of the evening will be Hand One of the Modified 100 Poker Series. With $3000 going to the feature winner an all-star cast of asphalt Modified standouts are expected to be pit side including such notables as 2010 track champion John Bennett as well as Don Wagner, ’10 & ’09 Poker Series champs John Markovic and Brian DeFebo, along with the Mahoning 100-lap hot shoe of the past year and a half Matt Hirschman.

Earl Paulus, Lonnie Behler, Chip Santee, Rick Reichenbach, Jimmy Zacharias, Terry Markovic, Tyler Haydt, Rob Shultz, Jarred Nace and the list goes on.
Time trials will set the top-12 which will then be inverted for the start of the main. All others outside of the top dozen will then try to qualify through heats and consolations.

Mahoning’s Late Model, Street Stock, Dirt Mods and Pro4 Late Model classes will also be on the card and expect to see those divisions in excellent shape as well.

Grandstand gates will open at 4:00 p.m. with racing starting at 6:00.
