The Sunday, Oct. 23 NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series at The New London-Waterford Speedbowl will have a purse of almost $60,000. The format will be similar to last year's closing race - twin 35 lap qualifying features and a 65 lap feature. Different this year, will be that the 65 lap race segment will be a points race and totally decide our champion. Also, new this year, will be a last chance feature that will pay out money to every position. Also, similar to last year, the draw you get in your 35 lap feature will tell you where you will start in the 65 lap feature ( if you start deep in the field for the 35 lap race, you start up front in the 65 lap race, and if you start pole in the 35 lap feature, you will probably be starting 22nd in the 65 lap feature) Also, I will start taking an early attendance check to see if you plan to attend this final race. If you are not pre entered for our series, a check of $125 must be in my hand by Monday, Oct. 17. Any one who enters later than that, will have to start scratch in all races on race day.

Hirschman 5 + 1 = 6 + 4 = 10*
Silk 2 + 4 = 6 + 11 = 17*
Pennink 3 + 7 = 10 + 10 = 20
Savary 7 + 19 = 26 + 2 = 28*
Perry 11 + 8 = 19 + 9 = 28
Jankowiak 14 + 6 = 20 + 12 = 32
Hinckley 4 + 2 = 6 + 27 = 33*
Bonsignore 5 + 25 = 30 + 6 = 36
Pitkat 6 + 33 = 39 + 3 = 42*
Pasteryak 12 + 12 = 24 + 18 = 42
* = mathematically can still win the championship
Remember, only the top three races count.. Last year, Hirschman was in situation like Pitkat is today. But he had great finish in last race and won championship. This year, he looks to have commanding lead, but a win by the others guys can change that fast.
