Dunleavy's Truck & Trailer Repair has stepped up once again.
Originally agreeing to sponsoring the lap leader $20 per lap at Lee, Monadnock, and Seekonk, Dunleavy's Truck & Trailer Repair will now do the same for the B feature at Lee Speedway on May 17.
To top it off, the Dunleavy's Truck & Trailer Repair "Race to the Front" bonus will now be doubled at the first race of the series!!! Yes, that's right!! The leader of each lap in the 100 lap feature and the 25 lap B feature at Lee USA Speedway will take home $40 per lap.
This extra money means the winner of the 100 lap feature could possibly take home $9000 if he leads all laps, and the B feature winner could now take home $2000 if he does the same. On top of this, race promoter Jim Schaefer has promised to write a $5000 bonus check to the winner if he gets crowd support with 3000 paying adults at the front/back gates combined.

Unlike Riverhead tonight, the weather looks great for Seekonk.
I spoke too soon. Wednesday weather is 50/50. Thursday is clear and sunny.
*** IMPORTANT ***
Open Wheel Wednesday is now Open Wheel THURSDAY! We have postponed the show originally scheduled for tomorrow until Thursday July 2nd, 2015. Due to the impending forecast we feel this will give us the best opportunity to put on an awesome show! Thank you in advance, and we are definitely looking forward to seeing everyone!!!
Looks like the the right call. Tomorrow should be a great day for racing. Can't wait!
What a fantastic event last night was. The event of the year IMO. A packed house and a packed pit area that was a who's who of modified racing both present and past. A tip of the cap has to go to all of the PA and western NY teams that made the long haul to Seekonk. It was good seeing the 3 and Eric Beers reunited and charging to the front once again. Good clean racing all evening. That is a good thing too for the MRS teams that are heading to Monadnock tomorrow night. The NEMA race was very exciting too. Congrats to all those involved.
Unnofficially, $156,814.14 has been handed out at the first three races of the NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series. The NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series / Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists Samuel Kramer) points standings after three races. Top 5- Todd Annarummo (137), Richard Savary (135), Chris Pasteryak (131), Anthony Nocella (127), Ryan Preece (119)..... However, if you eliminate the worse finish right now, it changes up quickly. Annarummo (96), , Woody Pitkat (96), Savary (95), Matt Hirschman (94), Pasteryak (93), Remember, only the top three finishes will count. One race is dropped. To be eligible for the point fund, you must be pre registered and race at least three of the races. $1500 of the $10,000 to the champ. In case of a tie, the driver who has the highest finish will be the winner.
I virtually agree Mac - I read through the coverage on Speed51 (I think, can't find it now) and I really wished I were there. Lots of really good names in the field, a few surprises - heat races that actually meant something and cars in the consi's that really must have made for a great night of action. With names like McKennedy, Summers, Meservey, Holdridge in the B-main you can tell this was a quality field.
No it's not the tour (names) and it doesn't have to be - just reading the coverage made me think this was a really great event, one with throw back feel.. Great job to the participants, organizers and fans that supported the event. I hope there are more in the future.
Just goes to show ya, there are plenty of Modifieds out there wanting to race for decent cash and incentives.

If you are planning to go to the Sunday, Sept 13 NorthEast Race Cars Tri Track Open Modified Series race at The New London-Waterford Speedbowl , and if you are going up the night before to either practice or watch the races, I have reserved a block of 20 rooms for Saturday night, Sept 12 at the Red Roof Inn New London . However, to get in on this block of rooms, you must call 1-800 - THE ROOF by August 12. Right now, rooms come in two types, 2 full beds ($93+, king bed ($93+),( already 8 rooms have been taken). you have to hold the room with a credit card but I believe you can cancel it up until 6 pm on the day of your stay. If you call and your room is not available, let me know and I will try to arrange for more rooms. When you call that number, you need to tell them you are looking to book a room under the block of rooms with the code B145NLWSB1 . To help me out, please post on here or send me a private message if you are going to take up this offer. We will be doing this again for the October race with a slightly different code. ( B145NLWSB2 )
